White cotton candy

Majestic chandeliers in chameleon shades

Cottony white changes to an angry gray

Ever enigmatic, morphing into various shapes

At sunrise and dusk, a pink golden blaze

Following the sun’s lead, in this merry weather dance

When tempest calls, thunder and lightning join the band

Clouds hover uncertain, over all the earth and land

Prepared any moment, to change their dilly dallying stance.

Dear Readers,

I’m happy to share this poem with you, as a response to the first poetry prompt in the OctPoWriMo October Poetry writing challenge 2015!

The challenge is to write 31 poems in 31 days, one for every day of October, beginning today. Today’s poetry prompt was to write regarding clouds πŸ™‚ Here are some of my favourite entries by fellow authors: A lovely acrosticΒ on cloudsΒ & another interesting long acrostic by my poet friend Bastet.

I’m not sure how far I’ll be successful with this..but hey, I’m going to try!

  1. Oh, 2P, a marvelous entry for the event!! I really love “chameleon shades”…and every line you write!! I’m glad you’re participating, and how nice of you to link to others–Bastet just suggested I could link to her, since I can’t do the Blogspot linky thing without going totally nuts and quitting my blog, so I’ll be doing the same thing. I’ll link to hers and yours! xxoo, J

      1. Don’t feel pressured–just do what you like, hon. And thanks for linking to me, I think it’s a great idea for those who can’t manage the whole job…surely we all have 2 poet friends!
By the way, here’s the email to the cookbook blog–whenever you feel like typing out a recipe, I’ll be thrilled to post it! hopetrusting@comcast.net

      2. It’s up, but pretty bare so far πŸ™‚ I’d like your feedback on my recipes because, although I’ve widely used the disclaimer that I’m a “casual” cook who doesn’t do a lot of exact measuring/timing, if it sounds impossible to do…well, the project may not succeed 😦

      3. Oooh, thanks my friend! If you feel comfortable sharing in your email, could you tell me a bit about you? Like where you live, for instance–anything you’d like to share… If not, that’s fine πŸ™‚

      4. OH MY, a dentist—oooh, I avoid them like the plague due to traumatic childhood experiences, and now cannot afford proper care…so my smile is “different” to say the least. But I SO admire you–a worthy profession, and well-paying I’m guessing ( it is here in the USA). If I were there, maybe we could work out a barter exchange πŸ™‚

      5. Oh no, I’m sorry you had a bad experience. Well its not so lucrative here like the US, unless you have your own practise. You should totally come here for treatment, we’ll give you a brand new smile πŸ™‚ Dental tourism is a big thing here!

      6. Really, dental tourism?? Ohhh, I wish I could come–and then we’d have a great visit too!! So, are you in a clinic, then? Or part of government social medicine?
