When
Intense perspiration
Bears no semblance of inspiration
Ingenuity runs as dry as a summer well
You’ve got two roads to take, as I see it
Beat yourself up, blame a lack of talent
Give into those voices in your head
They’ll scoff that you’re not good enough.
Else, take a little breather, be kind to yourself
Take a break to relax, refresh, rejuvenate
Come back, a bright firecracker
Lighting up the sky of self-doubt
Push your limits, boundaries will expand
Its called a learning curve because
The path is seldom

Dear Readers,
This is a response to the third day of the OctPoWriMo Poetry Challenge 2015.
The theme was to write a shape poem about what “depletes your energy and makes you want to stay away from the page and what you do to change or transform it to help you get your words written”.
I have attempted to shape the poem like a curve, to show what a learning curve poetry writing can be.
Hope you enjoyed it and can relate!
Till tomorrow,
2PP
Wow … a way cool read and I’d say you created a beautiful shape as well as a fantastic write!

Thanks Bastet, it means a lot.. I think it looks like one of those chinese dragons 😛 Oh well, I’m a writer, not an artist, sadly.

I love this: “Come back, a bright firecracker” … and the way you played with the spacing at the end. Awesome.

Well said. It IS a learning curve. Love the shape as your words take shape.

And you can trust that I mean each one sincerely. I don’t know how you got “straight” to go all over the page–you’re a genius! God bless you too, Abundantly!! I’m just so thrilled that we’re sisters in Christ, if I understand correctly… 🙂

We are definitely sisters in Christ! You understood just fine 😀 Oh there is nothing genius about it, just some timely use of the space key 😛

I’m over joyed, heart dancing at the news–cannot wait to learn more about you, if you feel comfortable sharing in emails, perhaps? And I’m laughing at myself, reading your explanation of the space key–leave it to me, to make something seem impossible! 🙂

How cute that you would use such an American “country” term–shucks! You know you’ll have to teach me some Indian phrases as well!!

Indeed it is! This weekend, my online church is hosting their annual international event called “Blessed Weekend”–it’s really great because the worship leaders from all over sing songs we’re familiar with, but in their own languages–such a treat! It’s a marvelous taste of what we’ll experience in Heaven, God’s people from all over the world gathered in His eternal kingdom–can’t wait!

Oh I do–they have 2 services Sat, and 3 on Sunday–so lots of opportunities…though my laptop doesn’t always allow for ‘clear’ streaming of the service, which is a bummer 😦

Oh that’s a let-down. Hope you can get through this time 🙂

Well, I got the 2pm one, so that’s good–but the guest pastor, a powerful Hispanic man, was talking so fast that I was hoping I could get the notes I missed during the 2nd service. Guess I’ll just have to trust the Lord to remind me of whatever He wanted me to hear, learn 🙂 Also, I can try the archived messages next week–maybe that will be clearer than “live streaming”. It’s all good–I’m SO grateful to have church available on TV and Internet, since I don’t get out much. Do you know who Joseph Prince is, in Singapore? He’s one of my fave Bible teachers–all about God’s GRACE!! Yaaayyy!
