Unrequited love of a silk scarf

The silk scarf adorned her lovely soft neck

Neck that it caressed, knot tied or free

Free to imagine how he’d ask for her hand

Hand with French manicure that strung him around

Around the other scarves he acted aloof

Aloof because he was jealous they got attention too

Too bad, he sighed, as she picked another one today

Today was just not his lucky day.

Dear Readers,

Today is the 20th day of the OctPoWriMo Poetry Writing 2015. The prompt today was to write a love poem. There was a suggestion that it could even be between inanimate objects.

I was searching for inspiration.. people-watching aimlessly and just happened to see a girl walking down the road with a shawl around her neck. Voila!

Hope you enjoyed it.

Till tomorrow,

      1. Hahaha–I keep forgetting to check the world clock, to see what time you have, compared to here. It’s a bit after 8pm for me πŸ™‚ Are you getting ready for work, or do you have the day off?

      2. Oooh, so we’re about 12 hours apart–that should be easy to remember (hah! old brain here). I admire you greatly for exercising–I detest anything that makes me sweat πŸ™‚
